Installation of the first equipment for the methanization unit for sludge from the Evry-Courcouronnes and Corbeil-Essonnes wastewater treatment plants.

Accompanied by their partners, representatives of CA GPS and SIARCE, shareholders in Stereau’s Société Publique Locale SPL – Confluence Seine Essonne Energie, together with members of the Board of Directors and Chairman Pierre Prot, laid the 1st pipe for the energy recovery project at the Évry and Corbeil-Essonnes wastewater treatment plants (Exona), involving the production and injection of biomethane and heat recovery, thus formalizing the start of construction work on this new recovery unit, which will be operational in June 2023.

Supported by the Société Publique Locale SPL – Confluence Seine Essonne Energie, the aim of this project is to convert sludge from wastewater treatment into green energy and produce the equivalent consumption needs of over 1,300 homes by injecting it into the GRDF network.

Stereau is supporting the Société Publique Locale SPL – Confluence Seine Essonne Energie, and its shareholders, the Grand Paris Sud conurbation and SIARCE, in this exemplary project for the development and diversification of renewable energy from wastewater. A new step for the Grand Paris Sud conurbation and SIARCE, which have committed to halving their greenhouse gas emissions over the next ten years.

Siarce and Agglomération Grand Paris Sud have pooled the management of their two wastewater treatment plants, Évry and Exona, by creating the local public company Confluence Seine Essonne Énergie. In particular, the SPL is responsible for valorizing the biogas produced by the digestion of sewage sludge on the distribution network.
